With their compact and comfortable accommodation all on one level, they enjoy a courtyard setting in relaxing surroundings with lovely walks close by. The Cinque Port of Rye with its cobbled streets and interesting shops, is only 10 miles away. Hastings offers a modern pier, beach (pictured), a promenade, local history museum and a sea life centre as well as excellent town amenities. The nearest shops and pubs serving food are in the village of Westfield, just 1 mile from The Oast.

Judins

In the heart of 1066 Country, this absolutely delightful property enjoys glorious views over woodland and pasture grazed by deer, as well as its own outdoor heated swimming pool and two acres of lovely, south facing gardens. This is country living at its best – wonderful walking starts at the door and bicycles are available from the owners, who live close by – yet good roads afford easy access to a wealth of places of interest. Royal Tunbridge Wells, a most attractive spa town and home to the lovely Pantiles shopping area, is 16 miles distant as are the seaside resorts of Eastbourne and Hastings, whilst Brighton, with its famous Royal Pavilion, theatres, lively bars and nightclubs, interesting shops and greyhound track, is just 23 miles. Hever Castle, Wakehurst Place, the Bluebell Railway, Glyndebourne Opera, Bateman's (N.T.), riding in the Ashdown Forest and sailing at Bewl Water are all within easy reach. Golf and fishing are found nearby. Burwash Weald, with village stores, antique shops and charming old inns, are 1 mile.

Only 6 miles from the charming medieval town of Rye, this sweet little cottage has been converted from stables, and provides very comfortable accommodation. In a secluded setting, with lovely views over the Sussex countryside, it is beamed throughout and attractively furnished, and provides an excellent base for touring the area. Rye, with its cobbled streets and Lamb House, home of author Henry James, the historic port of Hastings with its Sealife Centre, Battle Abbey and 14th century Bodiam Castle (N.T.) are all within 10 miles. High above the old town area of Hastings, right on the edge of the Country Park, this charming cottage (shown left) has recently been refurbished to offer very comfortable and attractive accommodation. Attached to the owner's home, it enjoys a peaceful setting with miles of wonderful walks from the door yet is only minutes from the beach and buzz of the town.
